Gaṇapati Prasāda
Blessing and Meaning of the Gaṇapati Atharvashīrsha Upaniṣad
An 8-Session Online Sadhana offering to Gaṇapati
Every Saturday | 18 July – 12 September 2026 | 7:00 – 8:00 pm IST
Welcome
The Gaṇapati Atharvashīrsha reveals the glory of who Gaṇapati truly is, his lovable form and his unchanging nature as oneself. It is chanted in homes and temples across the world, often with great love, and yet its depths remain largely unexplored.
In this 8-session online course, we undertake a guided sadhana through understanding this beautiful Upaniṣad as we offer our devotion to Ganapati.
Whether you are a longtime Gaṇapati bhakta, a Vedanta student, or someone drawn to the text without knowing exactly why — you are welcome here.
Ganapataye Namah
Why do Sadhana and Study of the Gaṇapati Atharvashīrsha?
The Ganapati Atharvashirsha Upanishad is a complete teaching that unfolds Gaṇapati as Brahman, the non-dual reality underlying all existence. When we understand what we are chanting, devotion deepens naturally. Meaning and blessing flow abundantly in our lives.
For the Gaṇapati bhakta, this is an opportunity to know the one you love — to see Gaṇapati not only as the remover of obstacles but as the very ground of your being.
For someone new to Vedānta, the Atharvashīrsha offers a beautiful entry point into non-dual wisdom through the doorway of devotion.
For the Vedanta student, this text is an invitation to discover that what you seek has never been absent.
What to Expect
Each session is one hour of chanting and understanding the mantras. No prior knowledge of Sanskrit or Vedānta is required. Every Sanskrit term will be explained clearly in English.
Over 8 Saturdays, we will:
Study the full text of the Gaṇapati Atharvashīrsha.
Understand Gaṇapati’s true nature as revealed in the Upaniṣad
Reflect on how this teaching can be integrated into daily sādhana and life

FAQs
Do I need to know Sanskrit?
Not at all. Every Sanskrit word used will be explained in plain English.
Will I learn how to chant?
No. The Upanishad mantras have svaras and have to be learnt with a teacher when one has dedicated time. Although the teacher will chant, there will be no time to undertake chanting practice in this course as it is primarily focused on unfolding the meaning and blessing.
What if I can’t attend live?
All sessions will be recorded and uploaded within 48 hours. You will receive a link valid for all recordings. That said, we encourage live attendance where possible — the shared energy of a live class adds something recordings cannot fully replicate.
Will I get a copy of the text?
Yes. This will be emailed to you.
I’m very busy. Is this manageable?
One hour per week for eight weeks is the commitment for the class itself. Adding a few minutes of daily chanting makes the teachings take root. If Gaṇapati is calling you, the time will be found.
What if I miss a session or two?
Please come anyway. Life happens — travel, family, festivals, emergencies, work pressures. Your commitment matters. Missing a class is not a reason to drop out. Recordings ensure continuity, and your presence, even intermittently, matters.
Why is there a course fee?
The teachings themselves are priceless and are offered in the spirit of the tradition. The contribution covers platform costs, administrative support, and the sustenance of the teaching work.
I have never studied Vedanta before. Can I join?
Absolutely. This course is designed to be welcoming to newcomers while offering depth to those already on the path.
Gaṇapati Prasada is exactly that — grace that you need.
