Parents & Children of SHINE share:

“I have been searching and wandering all around my place for my kid to learn about traditions, cultural practices, compassion, and moral values like respecting everyone on earth to ensure they are passed down through generations with such strong ethical and moral values.

The SHINE class is a perfect blend of preserving cultural heritage, instilling values, fostering community connections, and promoting personal growth of kids.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Vidhya (his Shine class teacher) for her dedication and creativity in teaching my child. It’s been incredible to see how she has made learning about spirituality and culture so engaging and innovative for them. Her passion and commitment have truly made a difference in Akshath’s life, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I wanted to thank her for such tireless efforts in shaping a young child’s mind & character, fostering their intellectual curiosity and instilling valuable lessons that will stay with them for a lifetime.

I am incredibly proud and impressed to see my kid’s growth in recent months. Few aspects that have stood out for us were:

  • Dedication to meditation
  • Curiosity in understanding the reasons behind every celebration/event.
  • Emphasizing the importance of respecting and heeding the guidance of teachers, parents, and elders is for their growth and well-being have truly made a positive impact on him.

It’s been truly inspiring to witness how they’ve embraced these practices and concepts, demonstrating a level of maturity and introspection beyond their age.

Thank you once again and my heart felt Pranam to the entire team!”

“ My son has learnt a lot from these SHINE classes. Stories are told for students to learn and understand about their culture, they sing songs and it is very interactive for the children. Their teacher Priya is very enthusiastic when it comes to teaching and helping her students learn. My son has learnt information that he didn’t know before about the Hindu deities as well as things he did know before which made him happy about the things he knew that was being taught. A fun and interactive experience indeed ”

“Tuesday afternoon has become my family’s favorite part of the week thanks to our meeting with Gauriji for the SHINE class. We continue talking about the stories, lessons, and drawings from class throughout the day and week. I am grateful for these lessons about gratitude, ahimsa, satya, which help establish values and a framework for our family. It’s been amazing to see the way my son has been able to learn various mantras and create a relationship with Bhagavan through these classes. I love that my son has positive role models to look up to as we talk about Rama, Prahlad, and others. The best day was when my son told me on the way to school “I am an instrument of Bhagavan!”, him realizing that is the reason why we do the SHINE classes, and I am infinitely grateful to Gauriji, Sonaliji, and Swaminiji for facilitating these classes for our children.”

“Sitaram,

My name is Vaishnavi Boyer. I am 8 years old. I look forward to SHINE class every week because I honestly would love to learn more about my Hindu religion. It also gives me an opportunity to interact with other children and make new friends. We should encourage more children to join in the SHINE class as they will learn about Sanatan Dharma. Miss Priya’s teachings help me to learn about my religion and practice it in my daily life. I will name a few things I have learned from the inception of SHINE class.

  1. Principles in Hinduism
  2. Panchanga Hindu calendar.
  3. Mahashivratri. We pray to lord Shiva in the form of the lingam.
  4. Navratri: Nav means 9, and raatri means night. It’s a time for fasting to worship the three Devis or goddesses, eg, Mother Durga, Mother Lakshmi, and Mother Saraswati.
  5. I learned more about the Hanuman Chalisa and singing it to receive protection from Lord Hanuman and that he helps me in difficult situations.
  6. Karma – If you do something bad, something bad will come back to you, and if you do something good, something good will come back to you; it’s like a boomerang.
  7. Dharma is practicing values. When we practice Dharma, God will bless us, and we will live peacefully. Examples of values are that if you follow dharma, you feel good about yourself, and you would not feel uneasy.

These are just a few things, I have learned so much more, and I am very excited to learn more. Thanks to SHINE & Miss Priya for educating children about Sanatana Dharma.”
