In this edition of Samvaada, our Tejasvini-s share their experience as a SHINE teacher. There are lovely narrations and pictures of celebrations – Raksha Bandhan. Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Independence day. The children have also learnt about the significance of Pitr Paksh. We also have our feature on Dharma-based Interactions and SHINE children performing.

Welcome to the first edition of Samvaada this year! We’re seeking more teachers to join SHINE Tejasvis and share Sanatana Dharma values with children. 13. October – December 2023 Quarterly Newsletter
It is the last Samvaada edition of the year! As we run through the impact created by the SHINE program and the Tejasvi-s. , the heart fills with gratitude and pride. The children have learnt various aspects of Sanatana Dharma and enthusiastically participate in all the celebrations and events. This edition has our new feature – Dharma-based parenting section in the form of cartoons. Enjoy the vibrant colours and illustrations! Wishing you a 2024 that is full of harmony and blessings.
12. July-September 2023 Quarterly Newsletter
14 SHINE teachers who are actively conducting classes for children both offline and online mode have reached out to 172 children from 4 countries – India, USA, UK, Trinidad & Tobago. These children can tell you why Dharma is the secret of all superheroes, can chant shlokas, learn from Ramayana and Mahabharata, speak about their Iṣṭa devata-s, tell you about temples, celebrate festivals and have fun while doing all of this!
In the coming year, we will reach out to 300 children through an additional 10 teachers and make Dharma SHINE even brighter.
11. April-June 2023 Quarterly Newsletter
It gives the SHINE teachers great joy to see the way the children have gained an insight into Sanatana Dharma – appreciating everything as Ishvara, understanding dharma, and enjoying the beauty of our festivals. It is inspiring to see them have a subtle impact on their parents’ lives, too. To date, 14 teachers have reached out to 141 children and we aim to reach out to 750 children, contributing to India’s 75th year of Independence.

We celebrate the Hindu New Year and Sri Ram Navami with wishes to all for happy, fulfilled lives. We are happy to share that we have now 108 children in the SHINE family. Teaching them about dharma, Ishvara, and the cultural and spiritual heritage of Bharat has indeed been a joyful journey.

With the abundant blessings of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswatiji, we are thrilled to let you know that we now have about 20 SHINE teachers across India and other parts of the world. The newsletter includes details of new teachers, their experience on completion of SHINE Tejasvi – Teachers’ Training Program, the upcoming batches in different countries and much more. Children learnt the significance of Guru Purnima, about Rishi Veda Vyasa and an Overview of the Hindu Shastra.

As a part of honouring our relationships with the five connections (Pancha Maha Yajnas), in the quarter of April to June 2022, we focused on doing our yajna towards the ‘Bhuta-s’. We celebrated the World Environment Day on June 5th. Our plan in this 75th year of India’s Independence – 750 children (6-12 years) across Bharat and overseas will learn and live Sanatana Dharma in their every day lives. Hence, we are looking for SHINE teachers (Tejasvis) who will join us in making our dream a reality.

As we celebrate the Hindu New Year, let us all welcome Bhagavan Sri Rama into our lives. May we all live the values that characterize and glorify him. Let him become an intrinsic and inseparable part of our lives so that we stand up for Dharma (universal values and principles) that become the “adharastambha”, the foundation for life on this Earth, our only home. You will notice that our newsletter has a brand new look for the new year! Also SHINE Samvaada is becoming a shining newsletter by children, for children and with our children. We are happy and proud of how they are living a life of Dharma.

Its been a wonderful journey with our Shine Samvaada as we welcome the New Year. Its gratifying to see the involvement of our children in honoring our ancestors, celebrating Navaratri and Deepavali, contributing to a cause on Children’s Day and reveling in the knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita.

Festivals have always been a very key and an integral part of every culture. The months of Ashadha (July), Shravana (Aug) and Bhadrapada (Sep), are very auspicious, as, in these months, we seek blessings of our different Rishis, Devatas and Pitrs (ancestors). The newsletter includes a welcome note by Sonali Ambasankar and articles on Janmashtami and Navaratri and our SHINE students have enthusiastically participated in these festivities.
